PURPOSE:To provide a discharge lamp lighting device in which the wiring for connecting a switching element with a switching transformer and the wiring for connecting the switching transformer to a secondary rectifying element are shortened, the floating inductances of these wirings are minimized, the switching transformer can be efficiently cooled, and the size can be also minimized. CONSTITUTION:Switching elements M1, M2 and secondary rectifying elements M3, M4 are arranged on the surface of a heat sink 37 arranged along the cooling air of a cooling fan 36. A switching transformer T1 is arranged along the cooling air of the cooling fan 36, and the switching elements and the secondary rectifying elements are mutually adjacent to the switching transformer. |
