PURPOSE:To make it possible to prepare a reference handwriting pattern with high reliability by requesting to try an input again when a handwriting pattern including an unstable factor is inputted by inspecting the dispersion between plural received and prescribed handwriting patterns for registration. CONSTITUTION:In a pen input device 11 having a coordinate detection function, the input of a handwriting pattern for registration is received plural number of times when a reference handwriting pattern is prepared. A sampling is performed for the coordinate data of the inputted handwriting pattern by time series and at prescribed time intervals and the data is inputted in a computer 10. The computer 10 performs an allowable range inspection inspecting the dispersion between plural inputted handwriting patterns for registration at the time of preparing a reference handwriting pattern based on the fetched time series coordinate data. When an unstable factor which is beyond the allowable range is included in the handwriting pattern for registration, the reinput of the handwriting pattern for registration is requested. |
