PURPOSE:To search the name of place by inputting a string of characters. CONSTITUTION:When a string of charactors of any registered place name is input by an input means 11, list processing of a retrieved place name is performed and it is output to a display means 12 after a place name retrieval means 4 reads place name data and place name reading data from a storing means 3 and place name retrieval is performed due to frontward accordance. The name of the registered place can be detected by further narrowing place names shown in a list in accordance with classification. If the place name is known by doing like this, selection can be performed by the input. In addition, because the names of registered places can be directly retrieved, and retrieval can be simply performed in fewer step than the conventional. |
