摘要 The invention relates to a process for the preparation of organic titanium compounds and to their use as crosslinking catalysts in cathodically depositable electrodeposition coating materials. The organic titanium compounds are obtained by transesterifying tetraalkyl orthotitanates, first of all partially with alkylene glycols which are capable of forming chelates, and then to completion with hydroxyl compounds based on modified mono- and/or diepoxide compounds. Cathodic electrodeposition paints containing the organic titanium compounds prepared in accordance with the invention, after curing in a temperature range from 160 to 180 DEG C, give paint films having the properties required by users, but where it is possible to dispense with the additional use of crosslinking catalysts based on heavy metal such as lead or tin.
