A compound represented by formula (I), which has such an immunosuppressive activity that it is selectively stimulated by a mitogen in a concentration range wherein no cytotoxic effect is produced to thereby specifically suppress the function of an immunologically activated lymphocyte and which is useful for treating collagen diseases caused by the anomaly of the immune function and other autoimmune diseases.
