Drive for display elements (31) or the like having a drive prism (6) with preferably vertically running axis of rotation and a rotatably arranged drive device (1) which, during its rotational movement, rotates the drive prism (6) through approximately 120 DEG and then locks it. In this case, the drive device (1) is designed to be essentially of cylindrical shape and rests, depending on the rotational position of the drive prism (6), on one of its surfaces (7, 13), and there are provided two wing-like attachments (3, 8) which are arranged on the end faces and which are capable of acting on the longitudinal edges (10) of the drive prism (6) and at the same time rotate the prism (6) about its axis of rotation. <IMAGE>
