<p>The invention pertains to a device for compressing gas, with a housing (10) that contains a separating element (12) along which a piston (14), moved by a drive mechanism, passes through two dead-center positions. By providing a three-stage compression cycle, with the piston (14) together with the housing (10) delimiting three successive separation chambers (III, IV and V) for containment of the gas to be compressed, the invention creates a gas-compressing device with which a high compression value can be attained at low cost for assembly and maintenance and which is reliable in operation.</p> |
