<p>A label applicator (100) has a recess (120) formed in a working surface (110) having a manifold (130) in its bottom surface. A vacuum is operated through the manifold (130). An applictor bar (150) is pivotally affixed to the working surface (110) by recessed hinges (152, 154). A resilient pad (156) is affixed on the applicator bar (150) adjacent the recess (120). A guiding edge (160) is slidably mounted adjacent the resilient pad (156) parallel to the front surface of the recess. Side guide rails (180, 182) are adjustably mounted and aligned with the edges of the recess (120). A rear guide rail (184) is adjustable to align a file folder with the axis of rotation (118) of the applicator bar (150). Labels are placed in the recess (120) and a file folder is placed on the working surface (110) between the guide rails (180, 182). The applicator bar (150) is pivoted upward and over the leading edge of the file folder. The resilient pad (156) presses the label against the file folder as the applicator bar (150) is rotated through approximately 180 degrees.</p> |
