<p>The present invention relates generally to a diagnostic assay for and a method of treatment of human disease conditions which are maintained or promoted by enhanced vascular permeability. The present invention is particularly directed to an assay for ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS) and to a method of preventing or treating same. The present invention is predicated in part on the correlation between high levels of Vascular Permeability Factor and a number of human disease conditions such as OHSS and tumours and cancers.</p> |
