1494407 Furniture joints DULA-WERKE DUSTMANN & CO 29 May 1975 [29 July 1974] 23483/75 Heading F2M [Also in Division E1] Furniture is assembled from columns 1 each having a tubular core around which are formed ribs 2 and dovetail splines 4, the latter each being received in a corresponding channel in a connecting piece 7, e.g. attached by a flange 8 to a panel 9, in a cover element 5 having an outer surface 6 matching that of the ribs 2, or in some other furniture element, e.g. the end of a rail 13, end caps 14 being secured to the ends of the column 1 to retain the elements, after they have been assembled by longitudinal sliding from one end of the column, in engagement with the splines 4. Adjustable feet 15 may additionally be fitted. Fig. 2 shows a panel 9 and a glass plate 12 of a cabinet secured to a column in this way, the glass plate being received between flanges 11 of a connecting piece 10. In Fig. 5, the dovetail connection comprises a pair of clamp plates 16 tightened on a spline 4 by a screw 17 and within a hollow panel by a screw 18. |
