In this patent, a technique is described for the serological diagnosis of the invasive infections produced by microorganisms of the genus Candida. The technique consists of eliminating the antibodies which react with the antigens of the surface of the cell wall of the levaduriform stage of the fungus Candida albicans, by means of an absorption process, in order to subsequently detect the antimycelium antibodies which may be present in the serum studied. The presence of anti-mycelium antibodies becomes evident on observing, by means of indirect immunofluorescence, a positive reaction on the mycelium surface, whilst the absence of reaction indicates that the test is negative.
