<p>The invention relates to an examination table for patients which is fixed at one end to a ceiling-mounted or floor-mounted support via a tilting device which allows the examination table to be tilted upwards or downwards in its longitudinal direction. In order to obtain an examination table which with relatively simple and therefore inexpensive means permits tilting about an imaginary axis which can be moved in an imaginary space approximately in the middle of the examination table, the tilting device comprises a first gear wheel (13), which is rigidly attached to the support, a second gearwheel (15), which is rigidly attached to the examination table (1) and can be swivelled about the shaft (17) of the first gear wheel (13), and a transmission between the first and the second gear wheel (13, 15), so that when the tilting device (3) is rotated in one direction about the shaft (17) of the first gear wheel (13), the second gear wheel (15) is rotated in the opposite direction. …<IMAGE>… </p> |
