PURPOSE:To obtain an inexpensive feed additive useful for cattle, pigs, etc., reducing diarrhea and loose passage of young domestic animals, having excellent safety and promoting effect on increase in weight, comprising a polysaccharide composed of a prescribed beta-1,3-glucan as a main chain. CONSTITUTION:This additive comprises a polysaccharide which is composed of a prescribed beta-1,3-glucan as a main chain, contains a branched glucose having beta-1,6 bond and is produced by a bacterium which belongs to the genus Aureobasidium such as Aureobasidium sp.K-1 (FERM P-12,989). The amount of the polysaccharide added is preferably 0.1-5wt.% based on a feed and the dose is preferably 0.5-1,000mg/kg weight/day. |
