PURPOSE: To obtain a clear and durable image by using a specified water- insoluble monoazo dyestuff as a dyestuff used when the dyestuff is transferred from a carrier on a recording material in the titled method wherein a color image is formed on papers and synthetic resin films by using a sublimation transfer process. CONSTITUTION: In the titled method wherein an excellent color image is formed on e.g. synthetic resin-coated papers and synthetic resin films by using a sublimation transfer process based on image data provided by an electrically stationary image, etc., as the dyestuff used when the dyestuff is transferred from a carrier to a recording material, water-insoluble monoazo dyestuffs of the formula wherein R<1> denotes an alkyl group with 1-6C atoms, a cyclopentyl group, a cyclohexyl group, a fluorine atom, a chlorine atom, a bromine atom, an alkoxy group with 1-4C atoms or a trifluoromethyl group; R<2> denotes an alkyl group with 1-7C atoms; R<3> and R<4> independently of one another denote an alkyl group with 1-4C atoms, are used. |
