METHOD FOR THE PRODUCTION OF DIAMOND LAYER ON TOP OF ROLLERS

The method shall find application in the manufacture of grinding tools and grinding wheels. By it a double diamond layer is produced on cylindrical rollers by electrochemical technique in static position of the diamond powder as a result of which the wear-resistance of the tools is improved. The method includes electrochemical deposition of nickel abrasive layer which grows to 1/3 of the height of the diamond grains in fresh electrolyte and the two operations are repeated. Nickel-phosphorus layer is also chemically deposited with subsequent heat treatment at 150°-250°C for 5-10 hours.
