PRODUCTION OF LACTONES

摘要

PURPOSE:To provide production method of gamma-butyrolactone under a mild condition in high yield even in the case of using either a saturated or an unsaturated dicarboxylic acid derivative as a raw material. CONSTITUTION:In producing a lactone by hydrogenating a saturated and/or an unsaturated dicarboxylic acid derivative, a catalyst which is obtained by combining a nickel-based catalyst composed of nickel and palladium supported on zirconia having >=50m<2>/g specific surface area with rhenium and has <=0.9wt.% chlorine content is used.
