PURPOSE:To eliminate a gap among drivers in an operating feel so as to allow even a driver who operates a control for the first time to make precise control by enabling selecting either advancing or reversing a vehicle by the movement of the control, and arranging the forward and reverse positions of the control to coincide with the direction of the vehicle. CONSTITUTION:A supporting member 8 projected from the inner surface of the driver's seat side door is provided with a direction-selecting control 9. The direction-selecting control 9 has a rotary operating drum 25 supported on a base, and a protruding streak 26 serving as a pointer is projected at the center of the outer peripheral surface of the rotary operating drum 25 and parallel to a pivot. On the outer peripheral surface of the rotary operating drum 25, R(reverse) is displayed in front of the protruding streak 26, and N(neutral), P(parking) and D(dash) are displayed behind the protruding streak 26. When the driver rotates the rotary operating drum 25 forward by pressing the protruding streak 26, a cap 31 is engaged in one of the detent recesses of a detent member 32, and the D that indicates 'dash' appears in the driver's field of view. |
