<p>PURPOSE: To provide a splint substantially sturdy and tightly adaptable to vari ous body sizes, by forming a groove on the surface of a support member in the lengthwise direction, and turning the support member at an external angle selected on the basis of the groove as a start point for adaptation to the outline of a body part having the splint. CONSTITUTION: A pair of bent joint parts 36a and 36b are provided near lengthwise ends 28 and 30 formed to be faced to each other, so as to be vertical thereto, and the bent joint part 36a includes a slit 38a extending from the lengthwise ends 28 and 30 to an outline joint part 40a through a support member 14. Furthermore, the bent joint part 36a includes a curved expanded hole 42a formed at the contact point of the slit 38a and the outline joint part 40a. In this case, the bent joint part 36b is substantially the same as the bent joint part 36a. The splint 10 is attached to a leg 12 so that the bent joint parts 36a and 36b are positioned near a knee joint 44 and this joint 44 forms a bent angleβdefined with the bent joint pats 36a and 36b. Bent members 46 and 46b are arranged so as to related to the bent joint parts 36a and 36b, thereby keeping the bent angleβat a fixed position.</p> |
