PRODUCTION OF METHANOL

PURPOSE:To provide a method for producing methanol in which the methanol yield is high at a high production rate thereof in a method for reacting a raw material gas composed of hydrogen and carbon oxide in the presence of a catalyst and a water-insoluble or a sparingly water-soluble reactional solvent and producing the methanol. CONSTITUTION:The characteristic of this method for producing methanol comprises taking out a part of a reactional solution in a reactional vessel therefrom, separating the methanol and water contained therein and circulating a water-insoluble or a sparingly water-soluble reactional solvent obtained after the separation in the reactional vessel, in a method for reacting a raw material gas composed of hydrogen and carbon oxide in the presence of a catalyst and the reactional solvent to produce the methanol and further attaining >=10 (L/ hr.L-cat) circulation rate of the reactional solvent.
