COATED CERAMIC PARTICLES, CERAMIC-BASED SINTERED COMPACT AND ITS PRODUCTION

PURPOSE:To obtain a high performance ceramic-based sintered compact having a uniform, dense, tightly sintered and highly controlled microstructure. CONSTITUTION:Core particles made of ceramic fine particles having <=10mum average particle diameter in the frequency distribution on volume basis are dispersed in gas at >=70% dispersity and collided against or brought into contact with a precursor of a coat forming material to coat the surfaces of the separate particles with the coat forming material and the resulting coated ceramic particles are sintered.
