Device for carrying out total hip prosthesis replacement (HPR). According to this method, the following operations are performed successively: the original hip prosthesis rod is fully detached using a percussion extraction tool; residual cement is removed using drills and burrs; the surgical cement seal is drilled at its centre, regardless of the initial position of the withdrawn prosthesis (varus or valgus). The method consists in aligning or centromedullary sighting a combination of distinctly shaped drills and burrs which pierce and progress through said surgical cement only under a force (pressure), said drills and burrs being carried and guided by a sighting device, thereby preventing them from slipping on contact with said surgical cement. |
