PURPOSE:To provide a photothermal conversion type heat mode recording material in which printing of the material having high sensitivity and low smoothness is preferable and no craze occurs in a photothermal conversion layer at the time of handling or coating with an ink layer. CONSTITUTION:A photothermal conversion type heat mode recording material 3 comprises at least a cushion layer, a photothermal conversion layer and an ink layer sequentially laminated in this order on a support, wherein the conversion layer is so softened that its breaking elongation becomes 10% or more.
