<p>PURPOSE:To improve the working efficiency by preventing slips from happening in a rough rolling mill. CONSTITUTION:The velocity of a material to be rolled at the outlet side of a rolling mill 1 is measured by using a sheet velocity meter 5 installed at the outlet side of the rolling mill. A real forward slip is continuously calculated from these and the roll circumferential velocity of the rolling mill, the obtained real forward slip is compared with a standard forward slip in a stable rolling state, the rolling velocity is decelerated corresponding to the deviation of forward slip, further in the case where the forward slip deviation succeeds, the draft is decreased. Therefore, the operation is possible without largely lowering the rolling velocity even if it reaches a slip dangerous region, the productivity is improved and the stable operation can be realized.</p> |
