<p>PURPOSE:To increase the rigidity of support members by installing the support members to support a glove box provided in a car instrument panel in close or open position on the panel and connecting an air conditioning duct in the panel to the support members. CONSTITUTION:A glove box 2 is provided openably in an instrument panel 1 extending in lateral direction of a car, and a striker 10 to support the glove box 2 in closed position is installed in the instrument panel 1. Next the glove box 2 is formed out of fiber-reinforced resin with shock absorbing function. Also the striker 10 is connected to an air conditioning duct 4 installed in the instrument panel 1 through a connecting member 22, and an air bag inflator 7 to store an air bag is provided in the instrument panel 1 at the upper position of the glove box 2. Then a stopper 21 to engage the glove box 2 in open position is provided. Thus the rigidity of support members and shock absorbing function can be increased.</p> |
