PURPOSE:To precisely form images of LED elements on a photosensitive body in one horizontal row by a method wherein a sufficient distance is provided between an end surface of a chip and an LED element to facilitate working of the end surface, and only one converging rod lens is provided, and especially high accuracy is not required for the relative positions of LED array chip, converging rod lens, and photosensitive body. CONSTITUTION:In an LED array wherein LED array chips having LED elements arranged at a predetermined pitch are arranged, LED elements 23 each have a triangular shape, and the elements 23 are arranged in alternately opposed directions along a horizontal line, and an LED array chip 22 having an end surface A which is inclined so as to conform with the inclination of the side at the end of an LED element 23 is joined to the end surface A of an LED array chip 22 to form a horizontal row. |
