摘要 PURPOSE:To reduce plant cost and maintenance cost by bringing a work of a cylindrical member into contact with a rotary brush while the work is rotated, moving the work in the axial direction, and chamfering the corner parts of the work into a specified curved shape by adjusting the depth of cut, and the contact time of the work with the rotary brush. CONSTITUTION:When the corner parts of a spool 4 having steps in the axial direction are chamfered into an elliptic shape, the spool (work) 4 is put between a rotary brush 10 rotated at about 2000 rpm and a rotation-adjusting wheel 20. Since the conveying path 33 of a blade 30 is a sloped path, the spool 4 flows downward on the sloped conveying path 33 of the blade 30, and is chamfered while it is moved slowly from the inlet side 31 to the downward outlet side 32. In this case, when the corner parts are chamfered into an elliptic shape, the minor axis is determined by adjusting the distance between the axes of the rotary brush 10 and the rotation-adjusting wheel 20, a depth of cut- adjusting mechanism 13 or 23, and the depth of cut D. The major axis is obtained by adjusting the feed speed of the work or the contact time of the work with the rotary brush 10.
