PURPOSE:To obtain an inexpensive feed additive having excellent safety, promoting effect on increase in weight and increasing effect on viability, comprising a polysaccharide composed of a prescribed beta-1-,3-glucan as a main chain. CONSTITUTION:This additive comprises a polysaccharide which is composed of a prescribed beta-1,3-glucan as a main chain, contains a branched glucose having beta-1,6 bond and is produced by a bacterium which belongs to the genus Aureobasidium such as Aureobasidium sp. K-1 (FERM-P-12,989). The amount of the polysaccharide added is preferably 0.1-5wt.% based on a feed and the dose is preferably 0.5-1,000mg/kg weight/day. |
