<p>PURPOSE: To uniformly process different sets of copies by a method wherein thickness of a set of copies fed is measured and when the thickness is smaller than the specified value of the first thickness, a processing apparatus is set to the first processing and when it is larger than that, it is set to the second processing. CONSTITUTION: A control device 40 for a copying apparatus 1 is provided with a device for controlling the number of sheets for controlling the number of sheets of copies to be stapled of the copies collected continuously in a collecting tray 21. A counting signal 42 indicating arraival of the copies and a measured signal 43 on the thickness of the copies collected are transmitted to the control device 40. The control device 40 generates a staple signal when a number of copies to be stapled exist in the collecting tray 21 to staple the copies. In addition, when the copying apparatus 1 is not set so as to perform stapling, the copies collected in the collecting tray 21 are discharged as they are according to a discharging signal 47.</p> |
