<p>PURPOSE:To produce an oil without causing coking on the inner wall of a decomposition apparatus by thermaly decomposing a waste synthetic polymer in the presence of a carbon powder such as active carbon. CONSTITUTION:A synthetic polymer is thermally decomposed in the presence of a carbon powder such as active carbon or carbon black. This method is widely applicable to thermoplastic resins, thermosetting resins, waxy polymers, etc., though a synthetic polymer contg. at least 50% polyolefin, esp. a low- melting polyolefin such as atactic polypropylene, is pref. The carbon powder is used pref. in an amt. higher than a half of a solid product which is produced by the thermal decomposition in the absence of the carbon powder. Carbon powder produced by the thermal decomposition can be used by recirculating it to the apparatus. Thus, an oil is produced without blocking the apparatus.</p> |
