PURPOSE:To effectively utilize a waste magnetic tape by applying shrink deformation to the waste magnetic tape and cutting or grinding the deformed tape to form curled cut or ground pieces used as a filler for building excellent in heat insulating capacity, sound absorbing capacity and electromagnetic wave shielding capacity. CONSTITUTION:The surface 71 of a waste magnetic tape 7 is brought into contact with a pin 6 heated to 100-200 deg.C and pulled in the direction crossing the pin 6 at a right angle to be shrunk and deformed. Then, the tape 7 is ground to be formed into curled ground pieces having a length of 1-5mm. These curled ground pieces are used as a filler for building or received in a polyethylene bag to be formed into a mat 17. This filler is arranged between the inner and outer walls of a building to enhance the heat insulating properties, sound absorbing characteristics and electromagnetic wave shielding characteristics. Since the ground pieces in the mat-shaped article are easy to move, the mat-shaped article is easy to follow a curved surface or a corner surface and can be utilized as a lining material. By this constitution, the waste magnetic tape 7 can be effectively utilized. |
