PURPOSE:To provide a production method of a carbon-containing refractory capable of easily obtaining the carbon-containing refractory superior in oxidation resistance, corrosion resistance, mechanical strength and molding property without raising the molding pressure. CONSTITUTION:0.1-5wt.% of at least one kind of more among polyvinyl butyral, polyethylene glycol polyvinyl acetate and polyvinyl alcohol as an organic molding assistant and also 0.1-5wt.% stearic acid or a stearate compound which works as a lubricant and a release agent are added to a refractory raw material consisting of a refractory aggregate and a thermosetting resin which is a binder and also a carbon source, to 100wt.% the aggregate, and they are kneaded, molded and burned. Thus, lubricity of the aggregate particles becomes better at the molding time and the molding is practicable at low pressure and also releasing from the mold becomes easy. |
