The rubber composition is characterized by having α-tocopherol and its derivs. of formula (I). In the formula, R is 4,8,12-trimethyl tridecyl or 4,8,12-trimethyl- 3,7,11-tridekatrienyl; R' is H or CH3. Pref. 0.05-2.0 phr of α-tocopherol or its derivs. is contained in 100 wt.pts. of the rubber. The obtd. rubber compsn. is useful for preventing the forming of nitros amine in the rubber when performing the crosslinking reaction of preparation of a rubber. Pref. the α-tocopherol is added with the rubber earlier than the carbon black to reducing amt. of nitro amine forming.
