The interface unit can determine the type of the printer interface of computers (serial or parallel) according to the state of cable. A resistor and a capacitor are connected to one of pins connected to the ground in parallel interface. Other sides of the resistor and the capacitor are connected to power and ground, respectively. According to what interface the cable is connected to, this pin becomes low or high state and the type of interface can be determined.
