A simple and inexpensive search radar installed in a convenient position to a motor vehicle, a novel scheme purposely to caution the driver at all times when there is another vehicle or other obstacle on the driver's left side or right side blind spot portion of the road. Although the above device and many other patents dealing with the subject are known to exist, no device of the types disclosed is known to have become the standard of commerce, for whatever reason or combination of reasons: lack of foresight, lack of efficiency, complexity, weight, cost, objectionable appearance. Currently, motor vehicle drivers on the high-way are dependent to their rear and side view mirrors to check overtaking vehicles on their left or right lanes but the views reflected from the mirrors do not cover the driver's blind spot portion of the road. Without this radar device a split-second mistake to change lane unaware of an overtaking vehicle on their blind spot portion of the road may result to a crucial if not a fatal accident. An absolute knowledge of what lurks in the blind spot areas while the vehicle is in motion, will make the driver at ease likewise enhance their driving concentration. Incidentally, unseen during foggy weather, an astray oncoming vehicle likewise can be warned of an impending accident. This invention is substantially envisioned to prevent avoidable and costly accidents.
