Arrangement for matching different field distributions of light beams

In order to improve the coupling (interfacing) efficiency when coupling different components, matching of the field distribution is sensible. For matching the semiaxis ratio of different field distributions, the use of a bevelled light-entrance and light-exit surface is proposed with a correspondingly matched inclination angle. The absolute value of the field distributions can then be matched by means of a rotationally symmetrical lens. Use for coupling fibre-laser, diode-strip waveguide etc.. <IMAGE>
