The chest of drawers has each drawer supported by means of three rails. An upper rail (1) is fixed to the drawer and a lower rail is fixed to the chest. A third rail (9) is installed between the upper and lower rails and has rollers (15) by which it is supported on the lower rail (22). The middle rail (9) forms a guide for a roller (5) attached to the inner end of the upper rail and has a roller (12) at its outer end to support the outer rail and the attached drawer. A pinion (30) mounted on the middle rail meshes with toothed racks on the upper and lower rails. USE/ADVANTAGE - Chest of drawers with sliding support rail which provides support for the drawer in its fully extended position. |
