Constructional improvements to a bathtub lifter (1) with a bottom part (2), with a lifting plate (3) for receiving the load and with a hydraulically actuable lifting device arranged between the bottom part (2) and the lifting plate (3) are proposed, which relate to various aspects of the lifting device. The lifting device comprises an extendable linkage (4), in particular a scissor-type linkage, and at least one pressure hose (6) which can be connected to the water conduit via an actuable valve (5), the lower end of the pressure hose (6) being fastened to the bottom part (2) and the upper end of the pressure hose (6) being fastened to the lifting plate (3). According to the invention, for the realisation of a hydraulic system, which is as leakproof as possible, for the lifting device, it is proposed to connect the valve (5) directly to the open upper end of the pressure hose (6). <IMAGE>
