In order to achieve good results in terms of the passage of leakage gas (blow-by quantity) and oil consumption in a two-ring piston for internal combustion engines, a combination of a rectangular ring in the piston head-side ring groove with a spring-loaded taper face scraper ring in the piston skirt-side ring groove is proposed, it being proposed that the land be partially recessed under the piston skirt-side groove.
