Method for controlling the heating of coke ovens, in which the heat supply for individual ovens or oven groups is controlled according to a preset function in dependence on the coking time above and below the average heat supply, the heat supply in the first and in the second coking-time half being controlled according to the same function, the heat supply amounting to 0% (heating pause) at the start of the coking time, subsequently being increased continuously or discontinuously to above 100% of the required average heat supply and then, before the end of half of the coking time, being controlled to zero again, and this heat-supply control being repeated in the second coking-time half, so that for each coking-time half an identical heating cycle results. <IMAGE>
