The invention relates to a method of synthesising selectable sequences of building blocks with the aid of a solid-phase synthesis, where building block coupling points are predetermined on support material. The sequences consist of selected building blocks and incidental building blocks at defined positions in the sequence. The method comprises the following steps: continual synthesis of the sequence, (aa) where the selected building block is added at a defined place on the support material, and (bb) where a mixture of incidental building blocks is added to the support material.
