The invention relates to a holder for a current-compensated annular core inductor which is used to protect electrical appliances against conducted interference, is integrated in the plug body of an electrical mains plug, is connected on the one hand to two contact sleeves (which are mechanically fixed via a transverse web) for accommodating the cable conductors of an electrical connecting cable, and is connected on the other hand to two plug pins which are fixed at the standard separation from one another via a plug link, the unit which comprises the transverse web with the contact sleeves and the cable conductor ends, the receptacle for the annular core inductor and the plug link being extrusion coated with plastic and forming a grip body from which the plug pins which can be inserted into a plug socket of an electrical power supply network project on one side and from which the connecting cable emerges on the other side. A holder of this generic type for annular core inductors which ensures that the annular core inductor is securely mounted and at the same time prevents short circuits resulting from projecting conductor wires or braids is achieved in that a covering plate, which extends radially over the annular core inductor, is fitted to the receptacle for the annular core inductor.
