Chuck for use with a manual or powered driver including a nut (60) rotatably mounted on the chuck body (16) and in engagement with the threads (34) of the chuck jaws (18). The chuck includes a selfcontained anti-friction bearing assembly (42) disposed between the nut (60) and a thrust ring, as well as a generally cylindrical front sleeve member (12) in driving engagement with the nut (60) and overlying a nose section (56) of the body (16) of the chuck so that when the front sleeve member (12) is rotated with respect to the body member (16), the jaws (18) will be moved thereby. The chuck (10) also includes a rust resistant decorative nosepiece (58).
