N-Acetyl-p-aminophenol derivatives for controlling pain

Use of esters of N-acetyl-p-aminophenol with sulphur-containing carboxylic acids such as cysteine or derivatives of cysteine such as acetylcysteine or carbocysteine or, for example, alpha-lipoic acid, or dihydrolipoic acid, or metabolites of alpha-lipoic acid, inter alia 6,8-bisnortetralipoic acid, tetranorlipoic acid or optically isomeric R and S forms of alpha-lipoic acid in oxidised and reduced form and the pharmaceutically useable salts thereof for producing pharmaceutical compositions with analgesic, antipyretic effects for the therapy of pain such as: painful conditions of the locomotor system, tumour pain, neuralgia, headaches, toothaches, lumbago, inflammatory, painful, degenerative articular and extraarticular rheumatic disorders, non-rheumatic inflammation and pain, arthritis deformans, chondropathies, periarthritis, pain associated with polyneuropathy of diabetogenic, alcoholic hepatic and uraemic origin and fever and inflammations (in general) such as colds.
