Burner head for oil burners with an atomising nozzle, a pot-like baffle plate, which has a bottom with a central bottom opening associated with the atomising nozzle and a circumferential side wall with wall openings, and with a burner pipe which receives atomising nozzle and baffle plate, an annular gap being formed between side wall of the baffle plate and burner pipe, the side wall exhibiting a circumferential reduction of cross-sectional area on that side of the wall openings which faces away from the bottom.
