<p>PURPOSE:To maintain a shoe clearance at the optimum, reduce a noise and suction resistance and heighten the running efficiency of a compressor, by providing an annular coolant passage outside a piston to cool the coupling portion of the piston from its peripheral surface. CONSTITUTION:Although the cross-sectional area of the fluid passage of a swash plate chamber 10 is large, it is hard for all of a sucked coolant to blow through the chamber 10 because a swash plate 6 rotates rapidly. For this reason, an enough coolant flow is caused through an annular coolant passage 20 provided around the swash plate chamber 10 or outside a piston 3. As a result, the coupling portion 4 of the piston is cooled from its inside and outside circumferential surfaces so that a shoe clearance is maintained at the optimum and a noise in running is reduced. Since scores per cent of the coolant are caused to flow through the coolant passage 20 of low flow resistance, suction resistance is reduced and the running efficiency of a compressor is heightened.</p> |
