PURPOSE:To improve the reinforcing strength of a joint and workability a method wherein a mold is set in such a manner as to cover fiber reinforcing material arranged onto the outer periphery of a joint of composite tubes and liquid hardening resin is forced in a cavity made between the composite tubes and the mold and hardened. CONSTITUTION:The inner peripheral surfaces at the end parts of the inner tubes 11a and 11b of respective composite tubes 10a and 10b and respective end faces 14a and 14b and, in addition, the side faces 25a and 25b of the flange part 1 and the tubular parts 22a and 22b of a connecting member 20 are heated by heaters so as to insert the tubular parts 22a and 22b in the inner tubes 11a and 11b for joining. After the joining of the composite tubes 10a and 10b through the solidification of molten resin, fiber reinforcing material 30 is wound round the outer peripheral surface of a joint. Next, a mold 40 is opened so as to arrange the fiber reinforcing material 30 in order to be covered by a top force 41a and a bottom force 41b and, after that, the mold is closed. Further, when liquid thermosetting resin is forced through an inlet 52 into a cavity 60 made between the composite tubes, the connecting member and the top and bottom forces, the liquid resin is poured compactly to corners by expelling the air in the cavity 60 through a vent hole 53. Finally, the reinforcing layer of the fiber reinforced resin is formed by the solidification of the liquid resin. |
