Device making it possible to contribute simply and effectively to the protection of the workforce operating on industrial machines. The device proposed is made up of two components made from aluminium sections fitting into one another. The first one (5) receives a cable (9) comprising two optical fibres (4) coming from an electronic box outside the present device. The second one (6), into which a length of optical fibre (20) has been incorporated, acts as a light "bridge" when the components (5) and (6) are assembled; that is to say when a machine casing is closed. In this case, the light emitted by the electronic box is returned to this box in order to authorise start-up of the machine without danger. The opening of the casing gives rise to the cutting of the light "bridge" (20) and the immediate shutdown of the machine by the electronic box. While this device is intended mainly to equip industrial machines, its non-material "contact" principle will find use in fields which are as diverse as that of protection against theft, among others. <IMAGE> |
