1) Floor-cleaning device of the kind having a pole (1), fitted to the end of which is an inclined support (2) underneath which is fixed a sponge (3), and having a perforated plate (6) hinged to the support and attached to a control handle (5) to enable said sponge to be squeezed out when it is pressed against its working face, the device being characterised in that the sponge (3) is provided on one of its long lateral sides with a chamois leather or absorbent fabric strip (7) and in that the sponge block has extensions (4) at the two ends comprising a portion that extends outwards beyond the fixing support (2) to enable it to get into corners. <IMAGE>
