The improvements centre on the transmission unit forming the piston/connecting rod/crank of a gasoline engine, the aim of the improvement being to eliminate the actual connecting rod with the intention of drastically reducing vibrations and friction arising in conventional systems or units. The elimination of the conventional connecting rod is achieved in that the rectilinear movement of the piston 2 is transmitted to a pinion 4 which rotates on its own axis 6 and is in turn pushed in order to be displaced in an orbit, following the planetary movement, meshing inside a fixed crown 5, with the particular feature that the common crankshaft 7 to which the rotational movement is transmitted in a direction which is the reverse of that of the actual pinion 4 is articulated on the actual shaft 6 of the planetary pinion 4. <IMAGE>
