The invention relates to a process and a plant for the desulphurisation of hydrogen-sulphide-containing exhaust gases by scrubbing out the hydrogen sulphide in a scrubber, oxidising the hydrogen sulphide to form elemental sulphur in one or more reaction vessels and separating off the solid elemental sulphur from the scrubbing liquor, according to the invention the sulphur being separated off from the scrubbing liquor by a continuous filtration, preferably a cross-flow surface filtration in the main stream.
